# Try DSUI right now

A signature pad, hold to confirm, an elastic slider and generative UI, among others. See dsui for yourself, with its themes, blocks, MCP server and skill.

## Try DSUI right now

dsui is the design system that devs7udio builds and uses. It holds components, blocks, themes and illustrations, and it keeps growing.

This post introduces six components that are uncommon in the default lists of general-purpose libraries. It is not the result of comparing every library. It is a selection of the differences we noticed while building.

## Some components are meant to be touched

**Generative UI** draws a screen that an AI model wrote in OpenUI or json-render using dsui components. A screen made by a model has the same tokens, motion and sound as one made by a person. [See it](https://dsui.vercel.app/en/items/gen-ui)

**Hold to confirm** is a button that fires only after it is held down. A fill rises while you press, which suits actions that are hard to undo, such as deleting. [See it](https://dsui.vercel.app/en/items/hold-to-confirm)

**Elastic slider** is a value slider whose track stretches like a rubber band when dragged past its ends. [See it](https://dsui.vercel.app/en/items/elastic-slider)

**Signature pad** lets someone draw a signature by hand or with a pen and export it as SVG. Stroke width follows pressure. [See it](https://dsui.vercel.app/en/items/signature-pad)

**Shortcut recorder** records a pressed key combination and shows it as a shortcut. It can be used on screens where people assign their own shortcuts. [See it](https://dsui.vercel.app/en/items/shortcut-recorder)

**Ridgeline chart** compares the shape of many distributions as stacked, overlapping ridges. [See it](https://dsui.vercel.app/en/items/ridgeline)

## Above the parts come blocks and themes

A block gathers components into one section of a screen. The blocks cover sections that real services build again and again: heroes, sign-in, settings panels, plan comparisons, notification centers and footers. The colored bands and large headlines in this post are blocks as well.

A theme does more than change colors. It can change icons, sounds, motion, fonts, corners, shadows, illustrations and decorations, and anything it leaves alone is inherited from the base theme. Besides the base theme there are seasonal themes such as Christmas, Chuseok, Halloween and Seollal.

## A library that AI tools can read, too

dsui publishes documents that AI tools read easily. There is an `llms.txt` and a Markdown address for every item, and an MCP server lets tools search and fetch source. It has seven tools, all read-only. For now an API key is required to connect. If you need one, please contact the devs7udio studio.

The skill is a set of instructions that tells an AI coding tool the order of work and the rules for building screens with dsui. With the skill on, the tool finds an item, installs it, uses tokens, checks light and dark, and runs a final check in the same order every time.

The documents are on the [AI and MCP](https://dsui.vercel.app/en/docs/ai), [Generative UI](https://dsui.vercel.app/en/docs/genui) and [Skill](https://dsui.vercel.app/en/docs/skill) pages.

## dsui will keep being updated

Components and blocks will be updated often. New features and new blocks will keep arriving, and updates that keep things stable will be frequent as well. The changelog on the site lists every change by date and version.

To see more components and blocks, please try them yourself at [dsui](https://dsui.vercel.app/en). Installation steps are in the [installation guide](https://dsui.vercel.app/en/docs/installation).
